Hi, I’m Catherine Labarca — a multidisciplinary artist with a Master’s in Medical Illustration and a Bachelor’s in Art Communication and Biology. Originally from New York and now based in Amsterdam, I bring an international perspective to my work in medical and scientific illustration.

With over seven years of experience, I specialize in scientific storytelling — creating visuals that make complex ideas clear, accurate, and engaging. My passion for both science and art started early and continues to drive everything I do.

I love illustrating the unseen world of the human body, visualizing new scientific discoveries, and helping medical, pharmaceutical, and biotech organizations communicate their work in ways that inspire understanding and connection.
